The Black Country Housing Group is a community based housing association covering Sandwell, Dudley and Wolverhampton. Through their in-house environmental consultancy e2S they have developed several innovative sustainable housing schemes, including the first fuel cell powered house.

The technology innovation centre (tic) at Millennium Point, in Birmingham, is a faculty of UCE Birmingham and a national centre of excellence for learning, innovation and technology transfer.

WMCCE
The West Midlands Centre for Construction Excellence (WMCCE) provides specialist business improvement assistance specifically to help local businesses in construction and the building technologies sector. Eligible businesses in the West Midlands can benefit from free specialist support to accelerate business improvement, increase productivity, and implement best practice and innovation.
Working through a unique regional partnership of experts drawn from the industry, WMCCE is funded by Advantage West Midlands and the European Regional Development Fund and supported by the University of Wolverhampton.
The Centre offers a range of services that include ICT implementation, construction accredited performance standards, lean processes in the supply chain, logistics management, respect for people, sustainability and the environment, health and safety, supply chain management, benchmarking and whole life costing. Alternatively WMCCE can provide direct expert support to companies to meet their specific needs. WMCCE also delivers and supports the regional demonstration programme to showcase innovation and improvements in best practice. It provides regional case studies of best practice in construction and gives companies and clients evidence of the improvements in productivity, cost control and safety offered by Constructing Excellence principles.
